The short answer
The Colony sits close enough to the FM 423 corridor that most of the town is inside a fifteen minute drive of a Frisco dental office, which means your realistic options are wider than the ones inside city limits. What matters is not which side of the county line the office is on. It is whether one place can handle your kids, your crowns, and the Friday afternoon emergency without sending you three directions.
People searching for a dentist near The Colony usually are not loyal to a zip code. They want somebody good, close enough to get to on a workday, and able to see the whole family.
That last part is where The Colony gets interesting. It is a compact town wrapped around Lewisville Lake, and depending on where you live in it, you may be closer to an office in Frisco or Little Elm than to one down the street. Our office sits on FM 423 just north of the Lebanon intersection, which puts most of The Colony ten to fifteen minutes away.
So the useful question is not where the office is. It is what you actually need from it.

Start with what you need in one place
Most families do not need a specialist. They need somebody who can do the routine work well and knows when to send you elsewhere. Here is how the common needs map out.

The drive, honestly
From most of The Colony, getting to the FM 423 corridor means heading north on 423 itself, which is a straight run. From the neighborhoods closer to Main Street and the lake, figure ten minutes. From the southern end near SH 121, closer to fifteen.
That is not nothing, but it is the same drive most people already make for groceries. And it is worth weighing against the alternative, which is often three different offices in three different directions for one family.

How to pick between two offices that look the same
Every dental website says the same things. Gentle, family friendly, advanced technology. You cannot separate offices on their marketing because their marketing is identical.
The fastest filters are ownership and estimates. Ask who owns the practice, and ask whether you can get the treatment estimate in writing before anything gets scheduled. Independent offices answer both in seconds.

The office that is fifteen minutes away and answers the phone on a Friday beats the office that is five minutes away and does not.
If the deciding factor is your kids
For families in Lewisville ISD, the scheduling problem is the school calendar, not the dentist. Ask any office you are considering two things: will you see siblings back to back, and what is the earliest morning appointment you have.
The other thing worth asking about is Medicaid and CHIP. Coverage for kids under 21 in Texas is genuinely good, and a lot of parents assume no local office takes it. We do. Here is how it works for kids and teens.
Where braces fit in
If somebody in the house needs orthodontics, that is a separate specialty and a separate office. Our sister practice, Elate Orthodontics, has an office in The Colony itself, so that part of the equation does not require the drive at all.

Common questions
How far is your office from The Colony?
Ten to fifteen minutes for most of the town. We are at 5605 FM 423, Suite 600-B, just north of the Lebanon intersection, so it is a straight run up 423 from The Colony.
Are you open on weekends?
No. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you have an emergency outside those hours, call anyway and leave a message, and plan on first thing the next business morning.
Do you take Medicaid or CHIP for kids?
Yes, for children and teens. Dental coverage under Texas Medicaid and CHIP for anyone under 21 is comprehensive, and we see those patients regularly. Adult Medicaid dental benefits in Texas are much more limited.
Is there a dentist in The Colony itself?
Yes, several, and some are good. The point of this article is not that you have to leave town. It is that the border does not matter much when the drive is ten minutes and the criteria that actually predict good care are the same either way.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Se habla espanol. Say so when you book so we schedule it right.
Can I get braces and general dentistry through the same group?
