Restorative Dentistry — Frisco TX
It’s Never Too Late to Fix Your Teeth
Restorative dentistry is about bringing your teeth back to full function and health — whether that means a single filling or a comprehensive plan to rebuild your entire smile. At Tribute Family Dentistry, we see patients at every stage of dental health, including those who haven’t been to a dentist in years. There is no judgment here — only a clear plan and the treatment to back it up.
We serve patients from The Tribute, Lone Star Ranch, Phillips Creek Ranch, Frisco Lakes, The Colony, and Little Elm. From a single cavity to a full-mouth restoration plan, we tailor every treatment to your specific needs, timeline, and budget.
What Is Restorative Dentistry?
Restorative dentistry encompasses any treatment that repairs or replaces teeth damaged by decay, trauma, wear, or disease. Unlike purely cosmetic treatments that focus on appearance, restorative work addresses the underlying function of your teeth — your ability to chew, speak, and maintain long-term oral health.
In most cases, restorative and cosmetic outcomes go hand in hand. A well-placed crown restores chewing function and looks completely natural. An implant replaces a missing tooth and prevents bone loss. Proper restoration also protects the rest of your healthy teeth from compensating for damaged ones — which is often how small problems become large ones over time.

Restorative Dental Services at Our Frisco Office
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Composite resin fillings that blend seamlessly with your natural tooth color. Used to treat cavities, replace old amalgam fillings, and repair minor chips or cracks. Completed in a single visit.
Dental Crowns
Porcelain caps that fully cover a damaged, cracked, or root-treated tooth to restore its full strength and appearance. Essential after a root canal and often used to anchor a bridge or top an implant.
Dental Bridges
A fixed restoration that spans a gap left by one or more missing teeth, anchored to the adjacent teeth with crowns. A good alternative to implants when the surrounding teeth already need crowns or implant placement is not appropriate.
Dental Implants
The gold standard for replacing missing teeth. A titanium post is placed in the jaw to support a natural-looking crown. Preserves bone, prevents adjacent teeth from shifting, and can last a lifetime. Placed in-office by Dr. David Roberts.
Root Canal Treatment
Removes infected pulp from inside a tooth to eliminate pain and save the tooth from extraction. Followed by a crown to restore full function. Modern root canals are no more uncomfortable than a filling.
Complete Dentures
Custom-fabricated removable dentures for patients who have lost all or most teeth on an arch. Restores the ability to eat and speak normally and the appearance of a full smile.
Partial Dentures
Removable partial dentures that replace multiple missing teeth when some natural teeth remain. A cost-effective option when implants are not feasible or the patient prefers a removable solution.
Tooth Extractions
Simple and surgical extractions when a tooth is beyond saving. We always aim to preserve natural teeth first. Dr. David Roberts handles complex surgical cases with IV sedation available.
Signs You May Need Restorative Treatment
Pain when biting, sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers, or a persistent dull ache are all signs that a tooth needs attention — before the problem gets larger and more expensive to treat.
Dark spots, visible holes, chipped enamel, or cracked teeth that you can see or feel with your tongue all warrant a prompt evaluation. What looks minor on the surface may be more significant underneath.
A gap in your smile does more than affect appearance. Adjacent teeth drift into the space, the opposing tooth over-erupts, and bone loss begins at the site. Replacement prevents a cascade of further problems.
Fillings, crowns, and bridges don’t last forever. Old amalgam fillings can crack or leak; older crowns may have gaps at the margins. At your cleaning visits we monitor all existing restorations.
If you’re avoiding certain foods, chewing only on one side, or have noticed changes in how you speak, your bite or teeth structure likely needs attention.
Many restorative issues develop silently — no pain, no obvious symptoms — until they reach a more advanced stage. A comprehensive exam gives us a baseline and catches problems while they’re still manageable.
